If you cannot connect the 'Princess Robot Vacuum Deluxe' to the WiFi network with the 'HomeWizard Cleaner' app on your smartphone, this procedure below will guide you through the linking process and also inform you about any issues. This page describes the interaction and settings of the following robot vacuum cleaner:

  • Princess Robot Vacuum Deluxe

Prepare the robot vacuum cleaner.

Before you try to connect the robot vacuum cleaner to the Wi-Fi network again, keep the following in mind:

 1. Restart the robot vacuum cleaner

There is a red on/off-switch on the side of the vacuum cleaner. Switch off the robot vacuum cleaner by switching this switch to 'OFF' / O '.

Wait 5 seconds to ensure that the vacuum cleaner has been completely disconnected from the power.

Then switch the robot vacuum cleaner back on with the same red switch by switching it to 'ON / I'.

2. "Wake up" the vacuum cleaner

The vacuum cleaner is now still in sleep mode. Start the vacuum cleaner by pressing on the 'Clean | Stop' on the top of vacuum cleaner. The vacuum cleaner plays a short sound and a 'spinner' animation appears on the screen. Wait until the spinner has stopped. The vacuum cleaner is now ready.

Check Wi-Fi network

Pay attention to the points below when connecting the vacuum cleaner to your Wi-Fi network. When in doubt, consult your internet provider or network specialist.

  • Wi-Fi frequencies (for dual-band routers)

The 'Princess Robot Vacuum Deluxe' only works with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks to offer the widest possible Wi-Fi range. For this reason we recommend temporarily disabling the 5GHz network of your router. This is only necessary during the connection procedure. After the vacuum cleaner is connected to your Wi-Fi network you can switch on your 5GHz network again. Please note that you also leave the 2.4 GHz network on, this is the network to which the vacuum cleaner connects. Consult the manual of your router to temporarily switch off the 5GHz network. Some routers only have a 2.4 GHz network. In this case you do not need to change anything.

  • Wi-Fi  password

The 'Princess Robot Vacuum Deluxe' can only be connected to Wi-Fi networks that require a password. Open (unsecured) Wi-Fi networks are not supported.

  • Check Wi-Fi security

WPA and WPA2 with WEP, TKIP and AES encryption are supported. Other security settings, such as WPA2 EAP (Enterprise), are not supported.

  • Hidden Wi-Fi network

Hidden Wi-Fi networks are not supported.

  • Guest network

It is not possible to connect the robot vacuum cleaner to a guest network. When connecting, it is important that your smartphone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network to which you also want to add the vacuum cleaner (your home network). Guest networks are often limited so that the robot vacuum cleaner may not be able to connect.

  • Wi-Fi network name (SSID)

The name of the Wi-Fi network (also called SSID) cannot be longer than 31 characters.

  • VPN

The use of a VPN on your router and / or smartphone can lead to connection problems. Temporarily disable VPN on both devices.

  • Temporarily disconnect any Wi-Fi repeater

Interference may occur when using a Wi-Fi repeater during the pairing process. Temporarily disconnect this repeater so that the pairing procedure can only be configured to the main router WiFi network.

  • Place the Cleaner in view of the Wi-Fi router

Place (temporarily) the Robot vacuum cleaner in view of the Wi-Fi router during the pairing process. The closer to each other, the better the signal from the Wi-Fi network.

  • With the same Wi-Fi Network

Check that your smartphone is also connected to the Wi-Fi network, on which you also want to install the cleaner.

Once the above points have been checked, the process can be carried out further from the HomeWizard Cleaner app.

  • The HomeWizard Cleaner App wants to connect to the WiFi network "CleanerSetup". Press "Connect" to continue
    • POSSIBLE CONNECTION
      • The App shows a list of Wi-Fi networks. Select the Wi-Fi network to which you want to connect the Cleaner.
        • Enter the password of the Wi-Fi with which you want to connect the Cleaner
        • Press ‘Connect’. Keep in mind that it can take a minute
    • NO CONNECTION POSSIBLE
      • You will see a screen "Not connected to" CleanerSetup "". This can have 2 causes
        • Your Android phone could not automatically establish a connection with "CleanerSetup"
        • Some Android devices cannot automatically establish a connection with the "CleanerSetup" network. The App shows a button at this screen to go to Wi-Fi settings. Tap this button, then tap on the Wi-Fi network "CleanerSetup" and connect with the password "CleanerSetupPass"
      • After your phone is connected to "CleanerSetup", tap the "back" button on your phone to go back to the "HomeWizard Cleaner" App.
      • You have a Cleaner model that does not set up its own Wi-Fi network
          • Earlier models of the Cleaner use a different connection method and do not set up a "CleanerSetup" Wi-Fi network themselves. You can check whether your Cleaner uses this alternative connection method by means of the serial number on the bottom of the Cleaner. If the first 4 numbers of the "Serial No" are 3696, 3697 or 3952, then you have a Cleaner that uses the alternative connection method.
          • Tap the button to go to Wi-Fi settings and check if there is no "CleanerSetup" network. Tap the "back" button on your phone to return to the HomeWizard Cleaner App. If "CleanerSetup" is in the list of Wi-Fi networks, follow the steps as described above.
            • Then tap "CleanerSetup was not visible" to connect your Cleaner to Wi-Fi via the alternative connection method. For this alternative method it is important that your phone is connected to the Wi-Fi network with which you want to connect your Cleaner and that this is a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
              • Enter the Wi-Fi password of the Wi-Fi network that your phone is connected to.
              • Confirm that the password of the Wi-Fi network has been entered correctly and tap ‘next
